Rihab Essayh - Dries Van Notten x Ssense - 2023

SSENSE proposed an innovative clienteling event that was driven by the creative impulse to reimagine the fashion experience as a merging of sensory and cultural domains. I was mandated to curate the project to be at the junction of the luxury industry and the visual art market.

As an activation for Dries Van Noten’s SS23 denim collection, a captivating setting where Morrocan-Canadian artist Rihab Essayh hand dyed denim pieces to curated sounds. The complementary presence of music and art, catalyzing each other's expressive potential, created an immersive and memorable atmosphere for the SSENSE community.

With this art installation remaining in the space for two weeks, the experience created a valuable opportunity for the public to encounter and shop the capsule collection in its transient but enduring form. The dip-dyed T-shirt station led by Rihab Essayh incorporated bold, vibrant hues in a fluid, abstract pattern, capturing the collection's emphasis on fluidity and movement. The result was a series of unique, wearable piece of art that combines contemporary fashion with the timeless appeal of a classic white tee.
